Meta AI Moves from Answers to Actions

Powered by Muse Spark 1.1, Meta AI can now plan tasks, connect with apps, create briefings and presentations, and continue working after a user leaves the conversation.

Meta is shifting its consumer assistant from conversational answers toward work that continues after the prompt. New Meta AI features can make plans, connect to email and calendar apps, create slides, and handle recurring tasks.

The capabilities are powered by Muse Spark 1.1 and are beginning to roll out in select markets through the Meta AI app and meta.ai.

A personal queue of ongoing work

Users can request scheduled briefings, recurring research, shopping updates, training plans, or other tasks that Meta AI revisits without needing a new prompt each time.

A daily briefing can combine calendar events with relevant updates and flag conflicts. Research tasks can synthesize material from the web and public content across Meta's platforms, then turn the result into a presentation or visual plan.

Users can steer the work in progress

Meta says people can redirect a report, presentation, or plan while it is being produced. Completed materials are kept in one place so they can be revisited and shared.

That makes the product feel less like a search box and more like a lightweight workspace. The key product challenge will be showing what the assistant is doing, which sources it used, and which external actions require confirmation.

Convenience raises a context question

An assistant becomes more useful as it sees more of a person's schedule, messages, preferences, and history. The same access increases the importance of clear controls and understandable boundaries.

Meta says fully private Incognito chats remain available. As these agent features reach more surfaces, transparent permissions and easy revocation will be as important as the quality of the plans they produce.
